Profile
A culturally rich and diverse background makes Marcela who she is and drives her approach to floral design. Growing up on a farm in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Marcela has fond memories rooted in nature. To this day, the scent of jasmine, laurel, and pine trees still transport her to that time and place. The feeling of recalling something cherished is what she aims to capture in every event.
Marcela executes at a high-level. Not only is she an artist, but in her previous work life, she excelled in corporate business. She will keep your event on task and on budget, so you don’t have to worry about the details!
In 2002, Marcela launched Malleret Designs. The name is meant to embody effortless elegance, honoring her mother’s French roots. She has trained with renowned top designers like Paula Pryke at her London school, Preston Bailey in New York, and Jim Johnson at Texas A&M, among others.
Having designed floral for hundreds of events, Marcela provides a wealth of professional knowledge, insight and fresh perspective. If you’re looking to collaborate with someone who has finesse in creating unforgettable moments, then Marcela is for you. From architecturally grand to simplistically elegant, if you can dream it, she can create it.
Outside of the studio, you can find Marcela enjoying her hometown of Austin, TX. Some of her favorite pursuits include unwinding at Umlauf Sculpture Garden, architectural tours, art performances, taking in art at Lora Reynolds Gallery, cooking a traditional Argentine dinner for her family and friends, or cheering and attending on her three kids dance and band performances.
